Notification forwardingCodes come here.Phone stays put.
Pick the apps to forward, and their notifications show up on your computer. Verification codes in text messages are copied for you, ready to paste.
Getting started
- 1
Connect
Open Whisper on your phone and computer, connect, and trust each other.
- 2
Turn on forwarding
In Settings on Android, turn on Forward Android Notifications and grant notification access when asked.
- 3
Pick apps
Under Notification apps, check the apps to forward, such as Messages. Their notifications then show up on your computer.
Only the apps you pick.
Pops up on the computer
On macOS and Linux they show as system notifications with the app’s name before the title, and in the conversation with that phone too.
Codes copied for you
When a notification from the system Messages app has a verification code, it goes to the computer’s clipboard, ready to paste. Turn off Copy Verification Code to Clipboard on the computer if you prefer.
Only the apps you choose
Not every notification goes across, only the apps you check under Notification apps. The system Messages app is in the list too.
No server
Notifications go only to the trusted computer you are connected to, encrypted across your network.
Quiet on the computer
Turn on Ignore Android Notifications in the computer’s Settings and they stop popping up.
Stay connected
Forwarding works while the phone is connected to the computer. To keep it connected in the background, exempt Whisper from battery optimization.

Questions
Does every notification on my phone go to the computer?
No. Only the apps you choose under Notification apps; notifications from other apps stay on the phone.
Which codes are copied automatically?
Codes of 4 to 8 digits in notifications from the system Messages app, near words such as “code” or “verification code”. Notifications from other apps are shown but not copied.
With several computers connected, which one gets them?
The computer currently selected on the phone, one at a time.
Can I reply, or clear the notification on the phone?
No. Forwarding goes one way: the computer shows the notification but cannot reply or clear it on the phone.
Does it work with an iPhone?
No. iPhone does not let other apps read notifications, so forwarding is Android only.
