One appfor everything between your devices.
01Transfer
Send anything,like a chat.
Text, photos, videos, entire folders — drop them into a conversation and they are on their way. No size limit, resumes after a dropped connection, and every file is verified on arrival.
- Send whole folders from the desktop, no zipping
- Resumable transfers with streaming SHA-256 checks
- Full-screen images, inline audio, video thumbnails
02Input
One keyboard,every computer.
Arrange other screens next to yours and the pointer crosses over at the edge, with the clipboard following along. Away from the desk, your Android phone becomes a motion mouse, touchpad, and keyboard.
- macOS, Windows, and Linux (X11, GNOME or KDE Plasma) control each other
- Works on the Windows lock screen too
- Ctrl + Alt + Esc brings input back at any time
03Flow
Desktop windows,right in your hand.
Open a computer’s windows on your phone or tablet, then tap and type right in them, with the sound coming along. The window keeps running in the background on the computer, off its screen. It works the other way too: an Android phone’s apps open on a computer, for the keyboard and mouse.
- Windows from macOS, Windows, and Linux (GNOME, KDE Plasma)
- Android apps on the computer, with keyboard and mouse
- Send a window straight to another computer
04Sound
One source,a room of speakers.
Send whatever your computer is playing to one or more devices at once, and assign left and right channels to put together an impromptu stereo pair.
- One-to-many playback
- Left / right channel roles
- Android phones can play along
05Casting · Experimental
Pick on your phone.Watch it bigger.
Turn on TV casting and your computer shows up in the cast list of video apps on the same network. Video plays in its own window, with no Whisper install needed on the phone.
- Receive on macOS, Windows, and Linux
- Pause, seek, adjust volume, go full screen
- Built on DLNA, separate from Whisper's encrypted sessions
The everyday details, already taken care of.
Security
Security you can see.
Every pairing asks both sides to compare the same code. Only after you confirm do the devices open an end-to-end encrypted session.

X25519 for session keys, XChaCha20-Poly1305 for every piece of content.
Local network only
Devices connect directly. No public relay, and no copy left in a cloud.
Open source
MIT licensed, every line of the implementation open to review.
Note: LAN discovery and connection metadata are not encrypted, and the local database and received files are not encrypted at rest. The implementation has not had an independent cryptographic audit.
Three steps to connect.
- 1
Install
Install Whisper on each of your devices.
- 2
Discover
Devices on the same network appear on their own; if not, scan a QR code.
- 3
Confirm
Compare the pairing code on both sides, then start sending.

macOSmacOS 10.15 or later
Native builds for Apple silicon and Intel; About This Mac shows which you have.
WindowsWindows 10 / 11 · 64-bit
Includes the lock-screen input service.
Linuxx86_64
Discovery needs Avahi; video preview and casting need libmpv.
AndroidAndroid 7.0 or later
Most phones want ARM64; pick Universal if unsure.
iOSExperimentaliOS 15 or later
Not on the App Store and not fully tested on a device, so it may not work. Each release includes an unsigned IPA you can sign yourself.

Is this related to OpenAI's Whisper?
No. Whisper is a LAN device collaboration app and has nothing to do with the speech recognition model.
Do my devices need internet access?
No. They only need to be on the same local network — the same Wi-Fi or router. The one exception is TV casting: for online videos, the computer reads the stream from its source.
What if a device does not appear in the list?
Check that both devices are on the same network with Whisper open. If the network blocks mDNS / Bonjour, discovery cannot work; tap the QR icon at the top of the device list to scan a code or enter the IP and port (10002 by default).
Are there size or file type limits?
None. Any type, any size — just keep an eye on local storage. Large files resume where they left off after reconnecting.
How fast are transfers?
That depends on Wi-Fi signal, device performance, and disk speed. Encryption and SHA-256 verification stream with the transfer, so large files are not reread at the end.
Is my data secure?
Content in paired sessions is end-to-end encrypted, and the UI shows each device's identity and trust state. LAN discovery and connection metadata are not encrypted, nor are the local database and received files at rest. TV casting and share links use separate services (DLNA and plain HTTP) outside Whisper's encrypted sessions.
My pointer is stuck on another computer. Now what?
Press Ctrl + Alt + Esc on the controlling computer (Control + Option + Esc on macOS) and input returns immediately.
How does my Android phone become a mouse and keyboard?
Once both devices are connected and trust each other, open the computer conversation on your phone, tap Control computer, then start. Motion pointer, touchpad, virtual keyboard, shortcuts, and short text are supported; without a gyroscope the touchpad and keyboard still work. macOS (with Accessibility permission), Windows, and Linux on X11, or GNOME or KDE Plasma on Wayland, can be controlled.
Is casting screen mirroring?
No. It receives media that video apps cast over DLNA, without AirPlay, Miracast, or system screen mirroring. Availability, quality, and protected content depend on the video platform. Casting is off by default, and the first request from each source asks for confirmation.
What does Linux need?
Discovery relies on Avahi; sound sharing needs PulseAudio or PipeWire Pulse; input sharing and phone control need an X11 session, or GNOME or KDE Plasma on Wayland; mounting other devices’ files needs fuse3 (most distributions include it); sharing this computer’s windows needs GNOME 45 or later or KDE Plasma 6 on Wayland, with an x264 or openh264 encoder in FFmpeg; video preview and casting need libmpv, and window flow needs FFmpeg. Everything else works without them.
Why is there no iOS app?
Publishing on the App Store requires a paid Apple Developer account, so there is no official iOS release yet. Every release includes an unsigned IPA that you can sign with your own Apple ID using a tool such as AltStore or Sideloadly; apps signed with a free Apple ID must be re-signed every 7 days. It has not been fully tested on a real device and may not work, so please report any problems.
