Clipboard syncCopy here,paste there.
An address you looked up, a paragraph you wrote: copy it on your computer, pick up your phone, and paste. No sending it to yourself, and nothing left in your chat history.
Getting started
- 1
Connect
Open Whisper on both devices, connect, and trust each other.
- 2
Turn it on
On both devices, turn on Access Clipboard and Automatically Sync Clipboard in Settings. Both start off.
- 3
Copy
Copy on one device and paste on the other. Text copied on Android goes out when you return to Whisper.
No more sending things to yourself.
Text just arrives
Text you copy syncs between computers and phones. On the other side, just paste.
Images and files while sharing input
In the desktop keyboard and mouse workspace, copied images and files sync too, and the last copy wins. Single files and each batch have size limits.
Nothing kept
Synced content stays out of your chat history and never touches a server; it travels encrypted between two devices on your network.
Only to trusted devices
Normally it syncs to the trusted device you are connected to; in the keyboard and mouse workspace, to the connected devices in it.
Android sends on return
Since Android 10, background apps cannot read the clipboard, so Whisper checks it and sends when you return. Text from a computer can be pasted on the phone right away.
Just this once
Rather not sync all the time? Send the clipboard as a message with a shortcut: Cmd + Option + V on macOS, Ctrl + Alt + V on Windows and Linux.

Questions
Is what I copy stored anywhere?
No. Synced content is not saved to the chat history and never passes through a server; it travels encrypted between two devices on your network.
Why didn’t text I copied on Android sync?
Android 10 and later do not let background apps read the clipboard. Switch back to Whisper after copying, and it checks the clipboard and sends.
With several devices connected, which one gets it?
Normally the trusted device you have selected; in the keyboard and mouse workspace, the connected devices in it, and the last copy wins.
Can it sync images and files?
Inside the desktop keyboard and mouse workspace, yes, within size limits for single files and each batch. Otherwise only text syncs; send images and files in the conversation instead.
Still curious?
